The First Party Cell Organized in Kangson

In October 1945, President Kim Il Sung thought of the workers he had just met on his way back from his field guidance to the then Kangson Steel Mill.

He thought over how to arouse the Kangson workers immersed in joy of liberation and enthusiasm for construction of the country more vigorously to the construction of a new country and what should be done to make themselves competent as the leading class, as most of them were not yet trained organizationally and ideologically.

After having thought it over and over, the President said to officials that it would not be possible to rehabilitate the destroyed factory quickly by mobilizing masses of the workers without the revolutionary party of the working class, the general staff of the revolution and instructed that they should organize a party cell quickly at the Kangson Steel Mill so that the cell could rally the working people firmly around it and make them all turn out in the factory rehabilitation.

Soon afterward, the first party cell was organized with the progressive workers as its core in the deep concern and care of the President and rehabilitated the electric furnace No. 1 within two months since the President visited the Steel Mill and turned out the first molten iron, although the Japanese imperialist villains destroyed it and ran away saying that the Korean people could never rehabilitate the Steel Mill with their strength and technology even after ten years.
