With a beaming smile on his face, he said he came there as he was so pleased to hear about the new maize and dry field rice seeds bred by the farm.
On his inspection tour of the farm in May the previous year, he had made the rounds of the seed institute, pilot factory and plots for testing and cultivation of crops to learn in detail about the management of the farm and indicate the road ahead of it.
He spent much time acquainting himself with the actual conditions of the farm and naming the new maize species.
After a good while, the accompanying officials asked him to have a rest, but he said it was his desire to feed the people well and make them live with no reason for envying any one, and sped up his way to the faraway plot of a new dry field rice species.
