Wreath Sent to Liberation Tower to Mark Anniversary of Korea’s Liberation

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, sent a wreath to the Liberation Tower on August 14 on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Korea’s liberation.

Upon authorization, Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, laid the wreath before the tower.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Jo Chol Ryong, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, and officials concerned.

The participants paid tribute to the martyrs in recollection of the military exploits and services of the service personnel of the Red Army who fought bravely as they dedicated their blood and lives unsparingly in the sacred war for liberating Korea.
