One day decades ago, Chairman Kim Jong Il saw some children crossing the stepping stone as he passed by a local village. He said it would be very inconvenient for them to go to school by crossing it, and instructed officials to build a bridge over the Sujong Stream so that the schoolchildren could go to school with no inconveniences.
When an official told him that there were only about a dozen of them who crossed the stream to go to school, the Chairman said that a bridge should be built even if they were a few, not about ten.
As students are the valuable treasures of the country, we must spare nothing for them, he noted.
Thanks to the noble intention and burning love of the Chairman who regarded the children as the valuable treasures of the country, a bridge was built over the Sujong Stream for only ten and more schoolchildren.
