Yanggakdo Football Stadium, located on Yanggak Island in Pyongyang, was completed on May 18, 1989.
With a seating capacity of more than 30 000 it covers a building lot of 130 000 m² and a total floor space of 57 000 m².
It is designed to hold various sports events such as football and athletics simultaneously. It has indoor training areas for body building, weightlifting, table tennis, boxing, wrestling, judo and swimming.
Additional sports facilities include: referee room, waiting room for players, broadcasting room, correspondent room, commentator room and medical room, etc. Around the stadium there are three fields for football training and eight tennis courts.
Several international sports events took place here. The stadium makes a great contribution to cultural and emotional life of people and development of national sports.
