Workers and trade union members held a meeting in the run-up to the 76th anniversary of the historic cause of national liberation achieved by President Kim Il Sung at the Central Hall of Workers on August 12.
The meeting was attended by Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, trade union officials and workers and trade union members in the capital city of Pyongyang.
Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, delivered a report to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers stressed that the great event of national liberation was a shining victory won by Kim Il Sung’s unwavering idea of independence and faith.
The glorious history and tradition of the Republic liberated by Kim Il Sung and glorified by Chairman Kim Jong Il are being steadfastly carried forward under the outstanding and seasoned leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, they noted.
They underlined the need for all the workers and trade union members to perform with credit the role of the eldest sons of the country and advance unit in their effort to implement the new five-year plan.
They also pointed to the need to demonstrate to the full the militant might of the heroic working class in the present onward march for ushering in an era of fresh upswing in socialist construction.
