By Making Effective Use of Hydraulic Structures

The Mirim Barrage Management Station is reaping benefits from a small-scale siphon pipeline-type hydraulic power plant built by making effective use of its hydraulic structures.

With a view to generating electricity without making huge investment, it pooled efforts with the central electric-power designing office to make a scientific calculation of the output power of generators and the actual water amount falling on turbines.

As a result, the power plant is generating more than 100kW of electricity, which is used for the illumination and heating of the management station and other institutions.
