The conferences of youth league organizations at all levels took place early in April in the run-up to the 10th Congress of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.
They reviewed the overall work in the period under review on the basis of the idea and spirit of the 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and elected the new leadership body and representatives to the Congress.
The participants who came to the capital city of Pyongyang late in April were warmly welcomed by the citizens in the streets.
Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and other senior officials of the Party Central Committee and officials of the armed forces organs visited their lodging quarters and warmly congratulated them on their participation in the 10th grand meeting of young Koreans.
The participants took an active part in the technical preparations for the Congress.
During the preparations, they visited President Kim Il Sung’s native home at Mangyongdae.
They visited the “Hall of the Great Leaders and Their Comrades-in-Arms” in the Korean Revolution Museum and the Youth Movement Museum.
They also watched documentaries, including “The Brilliant History of Youth Power”.
