Fly ashes are being used effectively amid the nationwide efforts for recycling going full tilt.
The Pyongyang Thermal Power Station made a new settling pond with a large capacity to collect fly ashes and separate them into white and black ash.
It produced insulating bricks with white ash to be used as a lagging material for boilers, thus reducing heat loss.
It reuses black ash mixed with coal in a certain ratio, thus lowering the cost of electricity generation.
It also collects fly ash with less carbonic element from chimney to effectively use it for several purposes, including heat-preserving plastering and production of slag bricks.
