Sewage Treatment Processes Are Renovated

Researchers of Pyongyang University of Architecture have recently developed a method of sewage treatment by means of inter-channel clarifer oxidation ditch and introduced it into several units.

The method makes it possible to put the treatment processes on an intensive footing so as to enhance their efficiency and ensure feasibility in their management and operation with less facilities, materials, land and electricity.

The researchers used a separating board attached with a bio-filter instead of a multi-separating board which forms a major part of the process.

The Ministry of Urban Management has already proved its effectiveness in Samjiyon City, Ryanggang Province, and is now applying it to the renovation and expansion of sewage treatment plants in Pyongyang.
