11th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of 6th Central Committee of Socialist Women’s Union of Korea Held

The 11th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 6th Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea took place through the video conference system on March 4.

It was attended by members and alternate members of the central committee of the women’s union.

Present there as observers were women’s union officials of cities and counties.

The meeting discussed the issues of devotedly implementing the first-year tasks under the five-year plan set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, intensifying the struggle against anti-socialist and non-socialist practices throughout society, etc.

Jang Chun Sil, chairwoman of the central committee of the women’s union, made reports on the agenda items.

The reporter analyzed in detail the deviations latent in the work of the women’s union and their causes on the basis of the main idea and spirit of the Party Congress, and referred to the measures to bring about a fundamental turn in the work of the union by fulfilling the duty and role as an organization of ideological education in this year’s struggle.

She stressed the need for the women’s union organizations to make a substantial contribution to carrying out the first-year tasks under the five-year plan by giving full play to the mental and creative power of the masses.

She underscored the need for the women’s union organizations to wage an intensive ideological offensive for eradicating anti-socialist and non-socialist practices and further enhance the role of union members in the struggle for consolidating the Korean-style socialism.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Relevant resolutions were adopted at the meeting on the basis of in-depth study of the draft resolutions.
