The Kubin Stockbreeding Cooperative Farm in Kangdong County of Pyongyang made achievements in breeding grass-eating domestic animals this year.
Located in the ri where mountains cover 80% of its territory, the farm is raising goats, cows and rabbits in large numbers by relying on 2 800 hectares of natural grassland and 150 hectares of artificial pastures.
It ensures that each household breeds 30 goats on average and 80 to the maximum by introducing an individual raising in keeping with specific conditions, with the result that the households produced over 5 to 15 tons of milk this year.
The farm developed and introduced various kinds of nutritive and assorted feed and artificial insemination and advanced breeding methods to increase the number of goats and other animals of superior strains and produce lots of meat.
It produced over 1 000 tons of milk a year and processed it into various dairy products, including yogurt, butter and cheese, and sent them to the public catering establishments in the capital city of Pyongyang.
