Preparations for Next Year’s Farming Go Full Steam Ahead

The Ponghwa Cooperative Farm in Kangdong County of Pyongyang wound up the plowing of farmland in good time and is now making preparations for the next year’s farming.

It has recently completed the project of covering stones on the banks of a 1 500-metre-long waterway of the Ponghwa Stream to prevent farmland from being washed away and flooding.

It also finished the project of a 3 600-cubic-metre capacity reservoir to supply water to paddy fields in highlands and carpeted paddy and non-paddy fields with leftover soils from the project.

The farm is pushing ahead with the work to recycle vinyl sheets and develop pesticides by making use of gingko leaves on a long-term basis.
