“Population” Increases in Central Zoo

Animals of over 200 species have produced more than 2 400 younglings in the Central Zoo this year.

Among them are cubs of Asiatic black bear, grivet monkey and Humboldt penguin. The Humboldt penguin has given birth to its babies for the third time this year, and a pet dog Shih Tzu dropped three babies.

Five species of parrots in the parrot aviary, including lesser sulphur-crested cockatoo, have hatched over ten eggs.

Besides, the number of such animals as Phungsan, the national dog of the DPRK, Bactrian camel and black swan has increased.
