A dahurian sabina community spreads out over a hill 400 metres above sea level in Sa-ri, Myongchon County, North Hamgyong Province. It covers an area of one hectare.
As an androgynous plant, the tree comes into bloom in June and its fruit ripens from August to October the following year. Its branches with leaves and cones are used as medicinal materials. The tree is 0.7 to 3.3 metres tall.
The community is under preservation as a natural monument as it is of academic significance in studying the distribution of dahurian sabina and its ecological features.
