Mother’s Day Marked in DPRK

Mother’s Day was greeted with the respect and love for mothers who are devoting themselves for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of their children and families.

The Korean people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme sanctuary of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance, and paid tribute to them.

They laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers at the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and in different parts of the country and their smiling portraits and made a bow.

Soldiers of the Korean People’s Army and sons and daughters sent greeting cards to their mothers.

Young people across the country visited flower shops and stands to select beautiful flowers for their mothers.

Congratulatory performances were given on Mother’s Day.

Public catering establishments across the country served mothers.
