The Korean people call the Workers’ Party of Korea their motherly party.
Having embarked on the road of revolution in his early years, President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the WPK, believed in people as in heaven and devoted himself for their happiness throughout his life. He strengthened and developed the WPK into a motherly party by formulating the Party’s policies in reflection of their demands and desire and carrying them out with credit.
Chairman Kim Jong Il, who was identical with Kim Il Sung in terms of ideology, leadership and personality, led the WPK to fulfil its mission and duty as the motherly party. Whenever he had the opportunity, he gave instructions to officials that they should always listen to the people’s opinions and become their true servants who promptly satisfy their demands and solve their difficulties.
In March Juche 95 (2006), he inspected the construction site of the Samsu Power Station. He said the inhabitants in the area to be submerged should be evacuated after building modern houses better than their existing ones, adding that officials should keep in mind that the people are more valuable than generating tens of thousands of kW of electricity.
Later, the inhabitants moved into new houses built for thousands of families.
The WPK’s history of love for the people is being carried forward under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
The northern area of North Hamgyong Province in the country were hit by flood in 2016. At that time, he took a crucial measure to stop the construction of Ryomyong Street which was nearing completion in the capital city of Pyongyang and enlist all the construction forces, equipment and materials concentrated on the project to the rehabilitation campaign in the flood-afflicted northern area, lest the flood victims should suffer from the impending winter cold, even though the project needed the country a colossal amount of money.
In August this year, too, he inspected the typhoon-stricken area in South Hwanghae Province. It is one of top-priority tasks to be surely carried out by the Party to go deep among the people to share weal and woe with them and encourage and sincerely help them when they are in troubles and feel difficult, he noted, adding that the Party Central Committee should always be with them when they are in happy times or bad.
As the WPK devotes warm affection for the people and trust in them, the latter entrust their destiny and future entirely to the former’s embrace and follow and support it wholeheartedly.
The voice of the Korean people, who call the WPK their motherly party, is a paean to the WPK which sets the people-first principle as its political ideal and its political mode and an eruption of their unshakable faith to trust and follow it only, whatever the storms.
