Octagonal 13-Story Pagoda

It stands between Manse Pavilion and the main shrine in Pohyon Temple.

Built in the closing years of Koryo dynasty, it is 8.58 metres high and its pedestal 1.2 metres wide. On the pedestal are carved lotus flowers facing downwards and upwards.

Built with delicately trimmed pieces of granite, the pagoda stands out among other old stone pagodas for its artistic excellence.

Wind bells are hung from the eaves of the octagonal roofs on each tier. The bells sound elegant even in a gentle breeze to make visitors feel refreshing. They are 104 in all.
