It was built on Rungna Islet in the Taedong River in Juche101 (2012).
It is uniquely furnished with up-to-date cultural and amusement facilities, including an Alpamare, Rungna Dolphinarium and a mini-golf course. Surrounded by thick foliage of flowers and trees, they present impressive scenes.
There are also a football ground, a tennis court, swinging and Ssirum (Korean wrestling) sites and other modern sports and public service facilities.
In summer it is crowded with people wading and swimming. In autumn it is enlivened with the audience to enjoy the Grand Bull Prize National Ssirum Competition, which is held as an annual event to mark Chusok (Harvest Moon Day on lunar August 15).
